Okoye Chukwuma Franklin hails from Agulu Town, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State of Nigeria. A graduate of Mass Communication, he holds a Certificate in Conflict Analysis Course, Certificate Course in Interfaith and Conflict Resolution both from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP). He holds another certificate on International Players in Public Finance and Debt Management from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

Okoye has participated in many workshops: International Art workshop for Children 2007; Facilitator Our Heroes Past, Abuja International Art Exhibition and Book Fair; Facilitator Project Mandela, A Photo Exhibition in Honour of Nelson Mandela of South Africa; Facilitator The Celebration of an African Legend, International Confer ...ence and Exhibition of 900 works on Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu among others.

Okoye is a volunteer with the United Nations online Volunteering services, a medium through which he contributes his ideas to human capital and community development. He is also a volunteer with Stand Up Africa Self Awareness Campaign and We Can Do It Foundation, a non political, non religious and non governmental organization engaged in social reform, community development and an institution of human evolution.

As a youth advocate, he is a member of African Youths Initiative for Peace, an organization that provides training on the area of effective control and management of violence and restiveness among youths, Culture of Peace International an organization that educate, advocate and work towards the promotion of peaceful resolution of conflicts among communities. He is also a member of: Commonwealth Human Rights Network, Commonwealth Health and Media Partnership, African Water Journalists Network to mention but few.

As a member of Commonwealth Human Rights network, Okoye has been a strong voice and an advocate of and for: a free movement for citizens of African member states, a strong bloc voice on global issues through African Union Mechanism, built-in-mechanism for conflict resolution and management in Africa, increase aid, cross- border investments, capitalism, democracy and stability in Africa.

Okoye is a Resource Person for Youth Farmers Development Initiative of Nigeria, a committed organization raising awareness on food and agriculture development among youths in Nigeria. He is the Coordinator of Wwoof Nigeria - World wide Opportunities in organic Farms, a volunteer and a sister organization of International wwoof. Wwoof is a network that coordinates a volunteer programme in the field of sustainable agriculture in different countries around the world. As an agricultural journalist and intercultural exchange officer, he is presently the acting chairman, Forum for Agricultural Journalists and Communication officers in Nigeria.

Okoye is a writer. He has most of his articles published in the local dailies and online. Some of his research papers include: Media Ethics in Journalism, the Nigerian perspective (An academic research paper submitted to the Forum For Argentinean Journalism FOPEA in September 2005); Networking for Human Rights, the Journey so far in Nigeria (A paper submitted to the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative at the Commonwealth Human Rights Forum Malta in November 2005);

Once a staff of Africa Merits Award Council, Okoye strived hard towards promoting the appreciation and celebration of Blackmans ingenuity in Africa and the world over. He discouraged the idea where Africans sought after Foreign Awards, Plaques and Prizes and encouraged the development of Blackmans creative spirit and potentials. Another Night with Okigbo is one such event where Christopher Okigbo, a founding father in the development of modern African Literature was celebrated in 2008.

Okoye runs a private Media consulting Firm, Hallmark Media, and publisher of Commonwealth Africa Journal which was registered in 2003. Located in the Federal Capital Abuja, Okoye through this Firm delivers his services to humanity. Read more
